Astana reviews hospital and perinatal-centre construction
The government outlined additional capacity, while distinguishing projects due this year from later facilities.
First Deputy Prime Minister Nurlybek Nalibayev inspected medical construction projects in Astana, according to a government update dated 23 October. The programme addresses increasing demand as the capital’s population grows.
A planned perinatal centre will have 250 beds, with construction expected to finish next year. A 300-bed general hospital is being built in Saryarqa district. These are planned capacities, not confirmation that the new beds are already available.
The authorities intend to open a reception and diagnostic complex at City Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 2 and an additional children’s trauma facility this year. The diagnostic complex is designed to receive 700–900 people daily.
Three additional outpatient clinics are planned at 500 visits per shift each. Buildings alone do not establish improved access: commissioning, staffing and actual service availability must follow. The confirmed event is the project inspection; individual opening dates remain plans.
