Kazakhstan and UNDP discuss cooperation priorities through 2030

Serik Zhumangarin and UNDP representative Katarzyna Wawiernia discussed regional development, digital planning and green finance.

On 21 October, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin met UNDP Resident Representative in Kazakhstan Katarzyna Wawiernia. They reviewed previous joint work and priorities for the 2026–2030 country programme.

UNDP proposed stronger analysis of regional revenue and spending, a geo-economic model to identify growth opportunities, and more data-driven infrastructure planning. Other priorities include SME productivity, agricultural processing and diversification of rural economies.

The meeting also covered labour-demand forecasts, integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into budgeting, climate and water issues, and regional access to green finance. These are proposed priorities for cooperation, not projects that have already been completed.
