Shymkent investment forum yields 22 documents worth $4.8 billion
More than 500 investors and business representatives from over 40 countries attended KGIR, with wind energy and manufacturing among the projects.
Twenty-two documents covering projects worth $4.8 billion were signed at the ninth Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable in Shymkent on 22 October, Kazakhstan’s government press service reported. Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov attended the forum.
Investment agreements include a 1,000-megawatt wind farm with energy storage in Kostanay Region worth $730 million, an intelligent road-monitoring system worth $249.6 million, and a glass-container plant in Aktobe worth $150 million. Other documents concern industry, energy and processing.
The total describes the value of projects in the signed documents; it does not mean that all funds have already been invested or construction completed. More than 500 investors and business representatives from over 40 countries took part.
