Offer and refund rules
Edition of 12 September 2026.
This page is a public offer: a proposal to buy a digital edition on the terms set out here, addressed to anyone who accepts it (Articles 395 and 396 of the Civil Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on offer and acceptance). By paying for an order you accept these terms in full. If you disagree with even one of them, do not pay.

1. What is sold
The digital editions listed in the shop: books and teaching material the newsroom writes itself. The goods are files (PDF, EPUB, HTML) that the buyer downloads through a link. There are no printed copies and nothing is sent by post.
What an edition contains at the moment of purchase is stated on its page: which edition it is, how many chapters are ready, what language it is written in. The buyer pays for that state, not for the whole intention.
2. What right the buyer gets
“A right to the edition” is a personal right to use the file that was bought:
- to read it on any of your own devices, with no limit on their number;
- to print it for yourself;
- to keep your own copies.
The right does not allow publishing the file or parts of it, selling it, giving it away, posting it in open access or on file-sharing services, passing it to third parties, or using the text to train machine-learning models. The exclusive rights to the text remain with the author.
Quoting the book with a reference to the source is free — as with any other book.
3. Updates
The buyer receives every later edition of the book they bought at no charge: each one arrives as an email with a link. There is never anything extra to pay for an update.
4. Price and payment
The price is shown on the product page in tenge and includes taxes unless stated otherwise beside it. Payment goes through a payment service: card details go straight to it and are not stored on this site.
The contract is concluded at the moment the payment is credited. Confirmation of payment and the fiscal document are produced by the payment service in the manner established by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
5. Delivery
The download link is emailed to the address given at purchase, immediately after payment — usually within minutes, and no later than 24 hours.
A link lives for a limited time. When it expires, a new one is free: an email to support is enough. Access to what was bought remains for as long as the shop runs; if it closes, we will write in advance and leave time to download the files.

6. Refunds
A digital product cannot be returned the way a thing is returned: after a download the file stays with the buyer. Hence these rules.
Before the download — a full refund, no reasons asked. If the link has not been used, write to support within 14 calendar days of payment. The money goes back by the same route the payment came, within 10 working days of the request.
If the file does not open, is damaged, or is the wrong one — that is our mistake. We fix it or refund in full, and no 14-day limit applies here: until the buyer has what they paid for, the obligation is not performed.
After the download there is no refund, apart from the case above. That is exactly why the preface and the first chapters of every book are published free: the excerpt lets you read the book before paying for it.
A double payment, a payment error, a payment for the wrong order — refunded in full, on request or by us as soon as we see it.
How to ask: an email to shanirak.org@gmail.com from the address the purchase was made with, giving the date of payment. We answer within 3 working days.
7. What we promise and what we do not
We promise: a file that opens; the contents described on the product page; free updates; an answer from support.
We do not promise that the book will teach a particular person to program, that it will get anyone hired, or that every example will run on every version of the language and every operating system. A book is teaching material, not a service with a guaranteed result.
An unfinished book is sold as unfinished, and the product page always says what is ready today.
8. Personal data
An email address is needed to deliver the purchase and to write about new editions. Processing follows the Privacy Policy. You can unsubscribe from edition notices at any time; that does not affect access to what you bought.
9. Changes to this offer
This offer may change. A purchase is governed by the edition that was in force when it was paid for — its date is at the top of this page.
10. Disputes
The law of the Republic of Kazakhstan applies. Correspondence first: almost everything is settled by an email to support. Where agreement cannot be reached, the courts at the seller’s location.
The consumer rights established by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the Protection of Consumer Rights” apply regardless of what is written in this offer.
