Astana reports 3,547 young people in permanent jobs: where to look next

What happened

Astana’s city administration said on 8 October that career centres had assisted 8,183 young people since the start of 2026. Of those, 3,547 had found permanent jobs. These are results of the city’s employment support, not a count of all employed young residents.

Where opportunities stand

Labour Mobility Centre director Olzhas Omar said the Youth Practice programme currently offers 529 vacancies from 209 organisations. Roles mentioned include systems administrator, accountant, financial analyst, lawyer and journalist. Employers may apply to provide places until the end of October. The city has held 30 job fairs this year, six aimed specifically at graduates.

At the time of the announcement, Enbek.kz listed 12,897 active Astana vacancies from 6,200 employers. A listing and a job opening are not necessarily the same thing: one listing can represent several positions. Applicants should check each offer’s requirements and closing date rather than rely on the aggregate number.

Why it matters

Graduates often face the familiar problem of needing experience to secure their first role. A placement can provide a direct route to an employer, but candidates should ask about pay, mentoring, duration and the chance of a permanent contract before accepting.
