Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan agree to expand flight frequencies
The permitted frequency on each of the Almaty–Tashkent and Astana–Tashkent routes is to rise to 60 flights a week.
What was announced
A GOV.KZ announcement published on 5 November reports the outcome of aviation talks in Tashkent. The two sides agreed to permit up to 60 weekly flights on each of the Almaty–Tashkent and Astana–Tashkent routes. The limit for other routes rises from 14 to 20.
Permission is not a timetable
These figures describe agreed operating opportunities. They do not establish that airlines have already put that many services on sale. Actual capacity depends on airline decisions, aircraft availability and airport slots.
For passengers, the practical change will be visible in schedules: available travel days, connections and what a fare includes. A higher permitted frequency does not automatically guarantee cheaper tickets.
What comes next
Watch for airlines to announce specific services and starting dates. When planning a journey, distinguish the bilateral agreement from a confirmed ticket for a particular departure.
