East Kazakhstan reports progress on 105.7bn-tenge hospital and road projects

A hospital, maternity facility, bridge and interchange are being built or rebuilt in Oskemen, with different completion dates.

On 21 October, Kazakhstan’s government said 105.7 billion tenge had been directed to health and road projects in East Kazakhstan Region. The projects in Oskemen include a multidisciplinary hospital, maternity-ward renovation, a bridge over the Irtysh and a road interchange.

The 300-bed hospital in the city’s 19th residential district is 28% complete and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027. Renovation of the Mother and Child Centre maternity facility has reached 90%, with handover planned for the fourth quarter of 2026. Those figures describe construction progress, not services already available.

The Serikbayev Street extension includes a 2.3-kilometre road and an 834.8-metre bridge, targeted for completion in 2029. The Satpayev Avenue–Zhibek Zholy interchange is 72% complete; a partial traffic opening is planned for 25 October, with full commissioning in 2027.
