ISS crew continues bioprinting and prepares for 29 October spacewalk
NASA’s 23 October diary covers vascular tissues, materials research and preparations for a solar-array installation.
The International Space Station crew continued bioprinting and high-temperature physics work on 23 October. NASA’s diary describes Luke Delaney and Anil Menon working with the BioFabrication Facility and vascular tissue samples.
Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutryk changed samples in a furnace that uses an electric field for levitation and lasers for heating. Jessica Watkins tested backup water-quality and gas-flow equipment.
The four astronauts also discussed spacewalk procedures with ground specialists. Menon and Kutryk are preparing to leave the station on 29 October to install a roll-out solar array, with Watkins and Delaney training to operate Canadarm2 in support.
The bioprinting remains experimental research, not an announcement of an available clinical treatment. The spacewalk was still a planned activity at publication; its execution and outcome require later confirmation.
