Kazakhstan ends Asian Games with 84 medals: who closed out the campaign
Kazakhstan finished the 2026 Asian Games with 84 medals: 12 gold, 24 silver and 48 bronze. Equestrian athletes were the country's final competitors. We examine the final tally and the closing event, while separating the headline number from the deeper performance review still to come.
The final tally: 84 medals
Kazakhstan completed its 2026 Asian Games campaign with 84 medals. According to the National Olympic Committee, the team won 12 gold, 24 silver and 48 bronze medals. The tally reflects both podium success and the breadth of Kazakhstan’s participation across the programme.
The final Kazakh competitors
Show jumping brought Kazakhstan’s competitive programme to a close. Oleg Sokolenko, riding Cinderella, finished 14th. Nurila Turisbekova and Quibelle Van D’Abelendreef did not complete the second round. Qatar’s Faleh Alajami won aboard Qapella, ahead of riders from the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
What comes after the ceremonies
A medal table gives a quick result, but it cannot replace a performance review. Federations now need to identify the sports in which Kazakhstan confirmed its strength, the events where it moved closer to the leaders and the areas where the gap remains substantial. That analysis will determine what these 84 medals mean for the next Olympic cycle.
