Asian Games 2026: Five Bronzes Put Kazakhstan Fourth After Day Six

Kazakhstan won five bronze medals at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi and Nagoya on September 25. After six competition days, the team had 30 medals: eight gold, eight silver and 14 bronze. The National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan placed the country fourth in the overall standings at the end of the day.

Who won Kazakhstan’s five bronze medals

Two medals came from track and field. Alina Chistyakova scored 5,568 points in the heptathlon to finish third. Polina Ivanova cleared 4.15 metres in the pole vault and shared third place with India’s Baranica Elangovan. Anna Cherkashina finished seventh after clearing 4.00 metres.

Islam Satpayev scored 348.3 points in the final of the men’s 50 metre rifle three positions event and won bronze. He had recorded 584 points in qualification. Kazakhstan finished fifth in the team classification for the event.

Kazakhstan’s women’s épée team of Sofia Nikolaychuk, Irina Bakaldina, Darya Samodelkina and Vladislava Andreyeva beat Hong Kong 45–35 in the quarterfinal. The team lost 21–45 to China in the semifinal and completed the event with bronze.

The fifth medal came in the women’s kayak four 500 metres. Olga Shmeleva, Stella Sukhanova, Tatyana Tokarnitskaya and Evelina Kostenko finished third in 1 minute 37.005 seconds. China won and Uzbekistan placed second.

Athletes who finished just outside the medals

Several results show how close Kazakhstan came to adding more medals. Bekarys Ramatulla and Dmitry Kholmogorov placed fourth in the men’s kayak double 500 metres. Maria Brovkova and Ulyana Kiseleva also finished fourth in the women’s canoe double.

Gymnast Milad Karimi ranked fourth on the horizontal bar with 13.666 points. He had already won silver in the floor exercise at these Games. Denis Sergiyenko finished fifth in mountain bike cross-country, while weightlifter Ekaterina Alyakina placed fifth in the women’s 57 kilogram category.

What fourth place in the table means

The medal table is a quick way to compare teams, but it does not capture every final, personal best or fourth-place finish. The five bronzes raised Kazakhstan’s total from 25 to 30 medals. The ranking can still change after every final.
