eGov GPT targets 150 services: how many are available now?

Kazakhstan says 51 services are currently available through eGov GPT. The target of 150 by year-end is a plan, not an existing catalogue. Five digital service centres are open; the distinction matters when judging the rollout.

eGov GPT was a focus of Kazakhstan’s 6 October government meeting. Deputy Prime Minister Zhaslan Madiyev said 51 public services are currently accessible through the assistant. The government aims to raise that number to 150 high-demand services by year-end, covering an estimated 80% of service traffic. The 150 figure is a target, not the present count.

What the other figures measure

The government says its Social Wallet has 3 million users and AI has processed more than 3.2 million submissions in e-Otinish. These are separate systems; neither figure is the number of eGov GPT users. Five digital public-service offices have opened in four regions, offering self-service terminals and help from advisers.

Convenience also needs safeguards

A digital service is useful when a person can understand the outcome and correct a mistake, not merely submit a request through a new screen. The next measures to publish are a precise list of live transactions, completion rates and a clear route to human assistance.

The government’s own report also identifies a security gap: only 130 of 432 critical digital facilities are connected to its operational security centre. Coverage is meant to expand. The rollout should therefore be judged on both faster service and protection of personal information.
