Eleven medals in Dushanbe: where Kazakhstan’s young artists excelled
Kazakhstan’s team won four gold, three silver and four bronze medals at the CIS Youth Delphic Games. Singers, instrumentalists and a decorative arts participant were among the winners. Why does this achievement deserve attention? Kazakhstan’s participants won 11 medals at the 20th CIS Youth Delphic Games in Dushanbe: four gold, three silver and four bronze.
Kazakhstan’s participants won 11 medals at the 20th CIS Youth Delphic Games in Dushanbe: four gold, three silver and four bronze. A Kazinform correspondent reported the results on October 11. The competition itself ran from October 5 to 9; the date of the report should not be confused with the date of the performances.
More than singing
Vocalists brought home the largest number of awards. Nazgul Baimenova won academic singing, while Aizere Toleu won folk singing. Aitore Azamatuly took first place in piano, and Anel Rysbek won decorative and applied arts. The ten disciplines also included violin, wind instruments, dance and crafts.
Artists aged 10 to 25 from nine countries took part. According to the event reporting, Kazakhstan placed among the top three in the unofficial team standings. The outcome reflects the participants’ work and sustained coaching rather than a single good performance.
After the medals
An award can open doors to touring, training and professional contacts, but it cannot substitute for them. Young artists need venues, workshops, teachers and grants after a contest ends. Those opportunities will show whether Dushanbe’s success becomes a lasting career path.
