Astana hosts Myn Bala youth gala
The programme brings children of different ethnic backgrounds together through Kazakh language learning and creativity, reaching over 1,600 students this year.
On 22 October, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Information reported a Myn Bala gala at the Al-Farabi Palace of Schoolchildren in Astana. Winners of regional rounds received diplomas and commemorative gifts.
Performers presented dombra pieces, terme and songs about their homeland. The programme involves children and young people of different ethnic backgrounds in learning the state language and exploring culture through creative work. The ministry said more than 100 regional events had reached over 1,600 school and college students this year. That is the programme’s total reach, not the attendance at this one concert.
